Lincoln- Inspiring, Amazing, and a Must See! @lincolnmovie

Lincoln—Wow. Rarely does a movie with such huge hype not only live up to it..but go beyond!  I sat watching Lincoln, truly in awe of the story being told and probably some of the best acting you will ever see by Daniel Day Lewis.

The movie is so timely, given how divided the US is today, and how childish our congressmen are acting, its so eye opening to look back at the history of where we came from.  How surprising it was that originally the Republicans that wanted to abolish slavery and the democrats that did not..and today we have a black democrat as President.

I was worried the movie would be too slow after i saw the trailer, but it was the good slow  It was the intense type of slow that makes you not want to eat popcorn and just focus.  It was so inspiring to be reminded of the type of man Abraham Lincoln was, and to a detail few of us ever knew.

Go see this movie now,and take someone with you.  And remember to be Thankful for what we have..and those that came before us to make it possible.

Flight- Great movie that will make you think twice on your next flight!

Flight is one of those unique movies where you find yourself talking to the screen hoping the character wont do what you know they are about to do.  It was so funny, i could hear almost the entire theater saying the same things ..because Denzel was amazing as a really broken addicted Pilot.

The crash scene itself was crazy and awesome to watch..and as a big traveler myself, everytime i see crashes like this in detail on screen it makes you think about what it could be like and how crazy it is.  But this movie makes you think about pilots and what they drank or snorted the night before…making it even worse!

This is a great movie, more about the breakdown of a man vs the flight and plane crash itself.  Its dark around alcoholism etc, but really a great movie

worth seeing right away…and i bet you’ll be getting angry at the screen just like we all were hoping he’d do things differently!

Man with the Iron Fists- so much potential! But didn’t quite get there

I thought the style and concept of Man with The Iron Fists looked amazing!  I was in love with the idea of RZA producing a kung fu action flick with Tarantino.  Especially because i love super powers and good action etc..even when a little campy.

But sadly it didnt get there. I wanted much more action between main characters with actual powers vs so many slower action scenes with fairly regular folks.  RZA’s character didnt even get into the fray until the end of the movie! If you are the title character, i want to see you and your iron fists throughout the movie!

I dont know..maybe i was expecting more of a Kill Bill.

but i do hope RZA tries again, he’s close to having a big hit i think

James Bond Skyfall- Regardless of the Hype, i wasnt impressed, and got bored

First let me say, I loved Casino Royale, i thought it was a refreshing hardcore reboot to James Bond and i think Daniel Craig is awesome.  But i was extremely disappointed with Quantum of Solace- because it was boring and slower, and just had an odd pace to me.

I had high hopes the Skyfall would be a return to the action and pace of Casino Royale, but not so much luck

It was very boring to me.  The fight scenes felt weakened, and there wasnt enough of it.  Frankly speaking a few things were obviously wrong.

First..why did they dye Javier Bardem’s hair blonde?!  it was so distracting and had no reason in the movie, it was such a horrible choice.   Also, why did he and Bond NEVER fight physically in the movie?! to be such an evil “just as good as you” agent, why did they not let us see them in combat?

Regardless of all the money this movie made so far, if you are like me and loved Casino Royale, and didnt love Quantum of Solace, then you’ll likely want to skip Skyfall for DVD or Netflix
