Resident Evil Retribution: Awesome opening scene and great musical score, but not greatest installment

Resident Evil Retribution is worth going to see just for the first 10 minutes!..the entire opening is in reverse slow motion!  It was one of the most unique things ive seen in a while..the opening scene is played in reverse in some very clear amazing action sequences..with one of the best musical scores playing through out. Ive always believed the right soundtrack can make or break a movie..and when the right music is picked for a scene its amazing. This is one of those examples.

Now the movie in general- its for those of us that love the franchise..not for some amazing story/plot line..but for the sheer action zombie killing fun.  I actually wasnt a fan of the last movie..Afterlife because they removed Alice’s powers…so this movie to be honest i think annoyed me a bit becuase she didnt have them in this movie either..yet seemed to still be a bad ass fighter.

So it wasnt the best installment but good enough to make all of us come back for the next round..which they tee up great at the very end of the movie.

again go see this for the first 10 min opening scene…

The Possession: really well done- if you like scary movies go see it!

I love scary movies, and i try to see good ones whenever i can.  That’s why i was really excited about The Possession..first its based on a true story about a dibbuk box that was bought then even put on ebay etc.  I actually saw an episode of Paranormal witness on SyFy that interviewed the original owners and people involved.  So when i saw the movie ..knowing that even some of this was based on true events was crazy!

At first i was worried that the PG 13 rating would mean it couldnt be that good or scary..but i was wrong.  The movie had  great scares, not cheesy ones, and really drew you in from the very opening scene.

If you are a fan of supernatural thrillers or demon/ghost movies.. definitely go see this now!

Lawless: Great movie! good laughs, great story/action !

Im a huge Tom Hardy fan..and i was so happy that Lawless was so good and that i can write this.  First of all, im a fan that its based on a true story- and at the end credits they even show you pictures of the real brothers.  The movie has a great story line, one that we actually dont get to see a lot around the prohibition era- where most the alcohol came from..the moonshiners.

On top of being a great story…there were also a great few funny moments keeping everyone laughing and on their toes

Definitely worth going to see right away

Bourne Legacy- boring and a sad installment of a great franchise

Ugh..The Bourne Legacy was horrible!  Regardless of how much i like Jeremy Renner and Ed Norton…this movie was extremely slow, boring, and nothing like the other Bourne movies!  The whole time i was wondering when we’d start seeing some real action and fighting etc.

The entire plot was slow building and very very weak during the most important parts (the fight scenes)…where is Matt damon when you need him?

Skip it..you will thank me

The Expendables 2- Like the first..not great..but worth seeing Van Damme and Chuck Norris!

Ok I didnt love Expendables 1…and so when i went in to see Expendables 2, i had low low low expectations..and that probably helped.  Really i wanted to see Van Damme back in action and loved that Chuck Norris joined in on the fun!

There was just a ton of guns, explosions and extended fire fights..but really still not as entertaining or great as it could have been.

I will say there were some funny references and dialogue between Bruce Willis and Schwarzenegger !

This is worth seeing on DVD or on demand, or once in the theater if you are a big fan of 80’s and 90’s action stars and really just wanna see these guys again

Dont expect an oscar film!
